Premises

The services provided by Hold My Bag Ltd. are ruled by these Terms & Conditions of Service, which shall be deemed the basis for luggage service and all other services finalized with the customer.

Definitions

Our terms and conditions apply to luggage pickup and return services entered into with Hold My Bag, Ltd. and customers accepting our luggage concierge service. By entrusting us with your luggage — via oral or written instructions — you are bound to these Terms and Conditions of Service. They may only be changed in writing by an authorized Hold My Bag executive.

Service Description

We keep your luggage at our private storage facility for the period indicated on your receipt, from the day and time of delivery of the luggage to the estimated day and time of return.

• The customer must acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions and the waiver of liability form.
• Cancellation is free, at any time.
• Payment details are confirmed when the booking is confirmed on WhatsApp. Reservations can be made via our website or WhatsApp.
• Luggage should be tagged with the customer's name and locked by code or padlock before collection.
• The customer confirms no valuables are left in the luggage — Hold My Bag declines all liability regarding luggage contents, and the customer remains responsible for their luggage and its contents.

Forgotten Luggage

If we have not heard from you within 24 hours of storing your luggage, a daily storage fee applies. For security reasons, unclaimed luggage is held for 30 days; after 45 days it may be sold or auctioned.

Our Concierge Luggage Service

(1) We receive your request by phone, WhatsApp or online booking. (2) We confirm the request. (3) Your details are logged (name, contact, pickup/return time and location, number of bags). (4) Payment is secured. (5) A confirmation is sent by email. (6) A waiver of liability form is prepared for signature. (7) Luggage is returned at least 2 hours before your onward time, and you sign off on delivery.

Right of Inspection

The customer acknowledges that Hold My Bag and/or any governmental authority may open and inspect the luggage at any time for security reasons. The customer warrants that the luggage contents are packed safely, do not damage other luggage, and are not prohibited items.

Extent of Our Liability

Our liability for loss or damage attributable to Hold My Bag or its employees cannot, under any circumstances, exceed MUR 50,000 per piece of luggage, as covered by the insurance described below. We are not liable for delayed or uncollected luggage due to customer tardiness, missed flights or connections, or for circumstances beyond our control (force majeure, natural disasters, strikes, theft by third parties, latent defects, prohibited items, etc). We are not responsible for broken handles or wheels.

Insurance

Each piece of luggage is covered up to MUR 50,000 via the customer's travel insurance. Additional insurance may be purchased from Hold My Bag for MUR 500 per luggage. This coverage does not extend to precious stones or metals, watches, electronics (phones, tablets, laptops, screens), navigation systems, jewelry, money, glass, art, antiques, documents, film or data-storage media, nor to consequential losses or delayed deliveries.

Complaints

Complaints for lost or damaged luggage must be emailed within 24 hours of receipt of your baggage, with documentary evidence to follow. Luggage must be made available for inspection at the time of collection.

Rates and Terms of Payment

Current rates are available on our website. Charges are payable before services are rendered, unless otherwise agreed. Refunds or cancellations are accepted with 24 hours' notice prior to your service date.

Applicable Law & Arbitration

These terms are governed by Mauritian law. Any dispute is subject to arbitration administered under Mauritian law, with the award enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Privacy & Use of Site

Use of this site is governed by our Privacy Policy. The site may be used solely for e-commerce transactions and business purposes related to our services; unauthorized copying, scraping, reverse engineering or misuse of the site is prohibited.

What we collect

When you book or contact us, you may share your name, phone number, flight and arrival details, pick-up and delivery addresses, and the number of bags. Bookings made through the form on this site, which also asks for your email address, are saved in our secure booking database and a confirmation email is sent to you. We may also receive the details you send us by WhatsApp or email, and, if you choose to leave one, a Google review.

Why we use it

• To organise, carry out and invoice your luggage service.
• To contact you about your booking.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only with the staff and drivers who carry out your service, and with providers that make our tools work: WhatsApp (Meta), Supabase (booking database, hosted in the United Kingdom), Resend (confirmation emails, processed in the European Union), and website hosting and security providers (Netlify, Cloudflare). Some of these providers may process data outside Mauritius. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

Cookies & analytics

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting providers may keep technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and performance.

How long we keep it

Only as long as needed for the service and for our legal, tax and accounting duties, then it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017, you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to its use, or withdraw your consent. Write to hello@holdmybag.co. You may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Office of Mauritius.
